How to unclog your drain with vinegar and baking soda

Traditional drains cleaners can resolve blockages, but may also be toxic to the environment and humans. By using a product of this type you can inoculate harmful chemicals in the water supply, causing impact on the environment.


These cleaners are especially dangerous around children, who can accidentally swallow these toxic substances. Vinegar is an element of domestic use that is safe, inexpensive and effective for cleaning and unblocking drains. When you use vinegar with baking soda, the powerful mechanical foam formed dissolves obstructions and chemicals and leave your drains flowing freely.
You need:
– 1/2 cup salt
– 1/2 cup baking soda
– 1/2 cup white vinegar
– two quarts (2.1 l) of boiling water
Direction:
1. Measure 1/2 cup of salt and carefully pour it down the drain. The salt acts as a corrosive substance to mechanically dissolve blockages.
2. Measure 1/2 cup of baking soda and pour in the clogged drain. This compound reacts with vinegar, forming a foam that push down pipe blockages.
3. Pour 1/2 cup of white vinegar down the drain. The vinegar reacts with the baking soda, and foam will become visible.
4. Wait 10 minutes for the foam to act on the obstruction. Baking soda and vinegar, mixed, push down the drain blockages. The salt dissolves obstacles and rubs the inside of the pipe.
5. Pour two quarts (2.1 l) of boiling water down the drain. The hot water discharge obstruction which has been dissolved by vinegar. This method works best for kitchen sinks with compressed obstructions or fat.
